3. Connecting Pacific Citizens

* Youth exchanges

- Invitation of 330 university students (all 14 Pacific island countries) to Japan and dispatch of Japanese high school students through the JENESYS program (Palau)

- Mutual visits by 296 youths through the Children Exchange Program with Micronesian Islands Nature Experience Exchange Program (Palau, Marshall, FSM)

- Invitation of 92 youths to Japan through Sakura Science Exchange Program (Palau, FSM, Marshall, Tonga, Samoa, Fiji, PNG)

* Pacific-LEADS / SDGs global leader program

- Support for 59 students at Japanese graduate institutions (Cook, FSM, Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Palau, PNG, Marshall, Samoa, Solomon, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu)

* Support for Human Resource Development

- More than 400 Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers and more than 700 JICA experts dispatched to Pacific Island countries (all 14 Pacific island countries)

- More than 900 participants for training in Japan hosted by JICA (all 14 Pacific island countries)

* Sports and local exchanges

- Team camp exchanges during the 2019 Rugby World Cup (Tonga, Samoa, Fiji)
