[Full text]

First and foremost, I would like to extend my most heartfelt congratulations to President Biden and Vice President Harris on their inauguration. President Biden's inaugural speech appealing for unity among the U.S. citizens was very powerful. I would like to collaborate closely with President Biden and work together to realize a free and open Indo-Pacific and address global issues such as the novel coronavirus disease and climate change. I intend to reinforce the Japan-U.S. Alliance to become even more robust by making my relationship with President Biden a close one. With regard to telephone talks and other occasions, we are advancing our coordination now, aiming at an appropriate timing.
