(On considering extending the declaration of the state of emergency and expanding the area subject to the declaration; and on responses to requests to additionally apply priority measures, such as the prevention of the spread of disease)

Today I analyzed the state of infections together with relevant ministers and discussed response measures with them.

I intend to make a decision sometime this week on how to handle the declaration of the state of emergency and priority measures, upon listening to the opinions of the experts.

(On the effectiveness of the declaration of the state of emergency)

As for the flow of people, which has been one of our major targets, there is no question that it is decreasing.

(On the number of cases of new infections)

I am sure you are all aware of today's figures, but it seems that we are beginning to see an effect in the form of a decline in the number of new infections.
