(On considering extending the declaration of a state of emergency and on responses to requests to additionally apply priority measures, such as the prevention of the spread of disease)

First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation to the fellow citizens for the reduction in the flow of people during the Golden Week, as we had made a request in this regard.

We have just held a meeting of relevant ministers, and we will consult with the expert committee tomorrow over the extension of the declaration of the state of emergency in Tokyo, Osaka and other prefectures, and we would like to make decisions on the period and areas covered by the declaration tomorrow.

We also decided to consult with the expert committee tomorrow over priority measures, such as the prevention of the spread of disease, and we will make decisions on the duration and areas to apply these measures in tomorrow's committee.
