(On considering extending the declaration of a state of emergency and priority measures to prevent the spread of disease)

We have just held a meeting of relevant ministers to discuss how to handle the declaration of a state of emergency and priority measures to prevent the spread of disease. We recognize that the overall situation does not allow much optimism, although prefectures including Tokyo and Osaka have seen a decreasing trend. We will first consult with the experts and make a decision on how to respond to the situation in each prefecture. The same can be said about the duration and others as well. In any event, we will make all-out efforts to prevent the spread of infections.
