(On the visit to the Takanawa Embankment)

Today, I visited the Takanawa Embankment, a railroad relic in the early years of the Meiji era. As you can see, the bridge portrayed in a Nishiki-e brocade picture in the Meiji era remains exactly the same as it was 150 years ago. This made me realize that the engineers at the time were highly competent in building modern Japan in the Meiji era and that it was important to pass on the relic like this to the next generation.

We need to proceed with community building in this area in collaboration among mayor of Minato City, who I received an explanation from, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Government of Japan. This is what I strongly felt during the visit to the site today.
