(On the handling of the declaration of a state of emergency and priority measures to prevent the spread of disease)

We have just held a meeting of the relevant ministers and decided to consult with the expert committee tomorrow over the handling of the declaration of a state of emergency and priority measures to prevent the spread of disease currently in place. We also would like to make decisions on the duration and concrete measures tomorrow.

The number of new infections in Tokyo is on the rise, and we intend to fully prepare ourselves to contain the spread of infections, considering the number of infections and hospital bed capacity.
