[Full text]

A short while ago, I spoke with President Zelensky of Ukraine over the telephone, which was my fourth such talk with him this year. In response to the Ukrainian government's request, I walked him through Japan's assistance such as an increase in the amount of our financial support from 100 million dollars to 300 million dollars and provision of protective masks, small drones and other Self-Defense Forces equipment, in addition to the food, medical supplies, and other goods we will be providing.

President Zelensky expressed his deep appreciation for Japan's contributions so far. He went on to explain to us about the current situation in Ukraine, as well as his views on future assistance and sanctions.

I will keep on pursuing diplomatic efforts to support Ukraine in close cooperation with the G7 and other countries concerned, with the aim of protecting the international community and the peaceful world order.
