(On Prime Minister Kishida attending the G7 Summit and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Summit)

First, at the upcoming G7 Summit, as the world stands at a historic crossroads, we will engage in frank discussions on responses to Russian aggression against Ukraine, as well as such issues as the global economy including measures to address rising commodity prices, climate change, and regional issues including the Indo-Pacific so as to demonstrate G7 unity to the world. That is the kind of summit I want us to achieve.

I will also attend the NATO Summit as the first Japanese prime minister ever to do so. I intend to take advantage of this opportunity to raise Japan's cooperation with NATO to a new stage. In tandem with this opportunity, we are also now coordinating a number of bilateral meetings, including one with Prime Minister Johnson of the United Kingdom and one with President Sall of Senegal, who is also serving as Chairperson of the African Union.
