I'm deeply saddened by the recent flood and landslide in the State of Pernambuco, the Federative Republic of Brazil, which have claimed many precious lives and forced many people to evacuate their homes due to damage. I would like to express my heartfelt sympathy to the government and the people of the Federative Republic of Brazil and also express my heartfelt condolences to those who lost their lives and their bereaved families. I pray for the early recovery of those who are affected and the prompt reconstruction of the affected areas.
