I am deeply saddened to learn that many precious lives have been lost and many people have been forced to evacuate their homes due to floods caused by heavy rainfall in various parts of Pakistan.

On behalf of the Government and the people of Japan, I would like to express my heartfelt condolences to those who lost their lives and their bereaved families. I would also like to express my deepest sympathy to those who were affected by the disaster and sincerely pray for the prompt reconstruction of the affected areas.

The Government of Japan will spare no effort to provide necessary assistance for the earliest possible rehabilitation of the affected areas. I would like to reiterate that Japan will always stand by Pakistan as it struggles to overcome this difficult time.
